Contacts Don't Show up for New Messages

I can not figure out why my contacts do not show up when I compose a new
message. When I select New Message then click TO button the contact list is
empty. There are no contacts listed. The contacts do show up and work
correctly under the contacts tab. I can view edit and change them when I am
in the contacts portion of outlook. Does anyone know how to fix outlook so
that it will access the contacts and so that they will show up when I am
composing a new message? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I searched
the forum and did not find an answer to this question.

TIA

What version of Outlook?

I am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5606)

Sorry I forgot to put this in my original post.

Ensure you have the Outlook Address Book service loaded and that your
contact folder is marked as an Outlook Address Book.

To install the OAB service, Tools->Options->Mail Services->Directories->View
or Change. If the OAB is listed, delete it and re-add it. If it is not
listed, back up one step and add it. Do not forget to completely shut down
Outlook and reopen for the service to start.

If it still does not work, right click on your contacts folder, select
properties. On the Address Book tab, ensure it is marked as an Address
Book.

If all this fails, create a new mail profile here: Control Panel->Mail
Icon->Show Profiles->New. Do not copy your old one as it is corrupt.

The missing OAB is often a result of people upgrading directly from Outlook
2000 Internet Mail Only mode that did not support the Outlook Address Book
service.

Thanks Milly,

I really really appreciate your help. Everything is working fine now. It
is nice to have the address book back. Your fist suggestion about deleting
and reinstalling the OAB worked great.

Thanks again,

Mark
