I have just installed Outlook 2002 on my new PC (Windows XP Media Edition)
and have entered my contacts. Everything works fine except when I click on
'To' to send a new email I get this message:

The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated with
this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or
you do not have permissions.

Anyone got any ideas as to what could be wrong? If I start to type a name it
populates the To fiels after the 3rd letter but when I hit send it says that
Microsoft Outlook doesn't recognize the name xxxxxxxxx

First try removing all folders mentioned here:
Tools menu > Email accounts > View/Change existing address books or
directories > Click Next
Highlight Outlook Address Book and Click Edit

Once you've done that, right click on the Contacts folder, choose
Properties, go to the Outlook Address Book tab and check the "Show this
folder as an email address book" box

Do you mean that the Outlook Address Book service doesn't show up in that
dialog? If so, you should add it (there was an add option earlier)
