Am I correct in understand BCM does not work on an exchange server? So how
does one share calendars and contacts? We are a three person office and we
were going to have our exchage server hosted somewhere. Will this not work?

BCM doesn't do any sharing at all, with or without Exchange (and it can be hacked to run in a mail profile with an Exchange account). Use Exchange for sharing, not BCM.

Thanks for your quick response - I might be a little confused. What I want
to accomplish is - Have three computers share calendars, email and contact
info. I thought that BCM would do a better job of keeping a contact's
history all in one place (one permanent record). What is the best way to
achieve this?

Neither BCM nor Exchange/Outlook by itself can do that for a group of users. You can certainly share information easily with Exchange, but it won't keep all the information on a contact in one place.

You might want to look into the various contact management tools that work well with Outlook; see http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contact_management.htm
