On Outlook 2000 C/W I have the Contact folder and Outlook Address Book
service installed.
The contact folder conains a number of addresses imported from OE6.
The properties of the Contact folder "Show this folder as an E-mail Address
Book" chacked.
However an attempt to view the address book result in a warning:

The address list could not be displayed.
The Contact folder associated with this list could not be opened
Iit may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions.

If I OK this, an Address Book dialog box pops up, and the "Show nams from
the:" drop-down shows three options:
1. Outlook Address Book (shows "No entries in this Address Book")
2. Contacts (if I select this it again shows the above mentioned warning)
3. Contacts (this shows the address list)
(in the Outlook Folder List pane only one Contact folder is shown)

The same happens if I try to add an address to a message using "To" button.

How do I fix it?

Remove the invalid reference to the Contacts Folder.
Tools > Options > Addressing Tab

Thanks, but there is no Addressing Tab in Tools > Options

.

Then try Tools > Services > Outlook Address Book > Properties.
Remove the invalid reference there.
