Vista O/S made the local news in Los Angeles tonight. Consumer Report
states that it has a few good features, but is slower than XP and has
compatibility problems with both hardware and software. Maybe Bill will
stand up and take notice!!!!

I don't think anyone who's at all familiar with Vista would dispute their
conclusion. That same conclusion has been true for every version of Windows
(and most other OS') when they were released. None of this leads to a
conclusion that an OS is a failure or flawed. Only time will tell us that.

While my opinion on Vista is still in limbo (after using it for 3
weeks), I am pretty sure I wouldn't allow a report of any local news
stations.

Or even "Consumer Reports" (assuming you mean the real CR company).

For tech stuff you really need to look to the trade magazines.

I should think that would depend on who 'you' are. CR seems to do an
adequate job of relating to Joe Sixpack - just not for anyone who thinks.

Joe Sixpack doesn't even read Consumer Reports. It seems to be
geared more to the pretentious yuppie crowd. Also, they use real
engineers to devise their tests and evaluations.
