i have a computer in my cellar and my living room both sharing the same internet connection, router and i have them networked together so that we can share files back and forth but for some reason i cannot send a console message to either computer from either computer. Also i cannot get the remote desktop to work, do i have to disable any firewalls eventhough i wouldnt even have to go over the internet to connect to the other computer?
Thanks :)

Hi,

Yep, you need to disable the internal firewall for this to work. If the
router is acting as a hardware firewall, then doing so should not expose you
to any danger. Your machine-to-machine connection would not go out over the
'net, it would still be handled internally by the router. The firewall in
SP2 (being released soon) will allow more configurability so that you can
leave it running and use these functions.
