Hello,
What exactly is needed to connect two computers
together and play the same computer game together?
And what is needed to connect two computers and be able to
transfer files from one computer to another via cable?

Each computer needs a NIC card (Network Interface Card) a.k.a an ethernet
adapter. You then need some Category 5e cable to connect them.
 
Do I use the same 5e cable to transfer files from one
computer to another? There isn't a program that goes with
it?
