My OS is Windows XP Pro.

To connect to my ISP I click on the Telephone Icon on my Desktop, but
recently this action fails to produce the Dialling
Dialog Box and I have no connection.

What other methods are available for connecting to my ISP?

Create a new connection to your isp in my network places, delete the old,
and create a new shortcut to point to it.

Open Control Panel - Network Connections, right click on the connection
there and take Properties. In General ensure that you have the correct
modem in use; and the phone number set. Then in Options ensure that you
have the Display Progress, and the twp 'Prompt' boxes checked; then when
you double click on it you should get the panel to enter user name,
password, and phone number as a check.
