connection settings being changed by malware?

my internet connection set up keeps having its username & dial number
changed, I suspect by something bad Ive downloaded in error. I've scanned
with norton & ad-aware but neither pick any thing up. I've also done a system
restore to a previous date but had to reverse it because it stopped norton
working.
any help will be welcome

Did you put the number in a search engine? What did that say the source is?
There is more than one spyware checker. Try a couple of others none of them
seem to find everything.
