I've got a friend, about 1800 miles away, who's got a cable connection but
is having problems getting on the internet. The message he's getting is the
"It appears you are behind a firewall..." He assures me he doesn't have Zone
Alarm, Norton Internet security or any firewall software. I've talked him
though checking to see if XP's built in firewall was enabled (it's not) &
checked the TCP/IP filtering option (not enabled). He's getting a good ip
address from his ISP, but can't ping anything. Oviously, he can't get on
line to post dumb questions like this, so I'll do it for him.
What are we missing/forgetting?
Thanks
