Hello,

I have been having a problem using Remote Assistance, the
strangest thing is, sometimes is works beautifully and
soemtimes not at all. The problem occurs when Remote
Assistance refuses to conenct to a user machine with the
error "cannot resolve host name".

Obviously, the problem is further inflamed by the fact
that sometimes it works without any problems at all...

Has anybody else had this problem and know a fix or
workaround for it?

The romote assistance connect via the internet, though a
Windows 2000 Server with ICS enabled.

Thanx,

Simon Owen

I get the error message when the person sending the invitation create
the invitation, sends the invitation, goes off the internet, and then
goes back on the internet. The host machine address is embedded in the
invitation and if the person goes off and then on, the address changes.
I've experienced this with the person inviting me using a dialup
connection. I don't know if other connection types would experience the
same problem.
