is there any way to connect xp home to a large network (over 100 computers)
and receive all the availabilities
of the network?

i have an HP ze 4230 notebook
with xp home and am told i need xp pro to connect.

however, am told i can connect with many limitations.

any advice would be helpful.

the IT guy at the firm with the network is of the opinion
i will have limited access, which i have heard before,

and am wondering if it is worth al the trouble to get connected.

but who knows maybe someone has found a way...

thanks in advance,

robert lafayette

WinXP Home is not designed to, nor can it truly be made to, join a
domain. Nor does it allow the same sort of seamless access provided
by Win9x, although domain resources can be manually accessed by
properly authenticated users.

While a WinXP Home machine cannot be made a domain member, it's
still possible for a properly authenticated user to access domain
resources from a WinXP Home PC. He/she merely has to enter his domain
user name at password for each connection/share required.
