We just bought a new computer to use as a "server" that
has XP-Professional. Old "server" had XP-Home. When
networking a laptop, everything was fine connecting with
XP-Home, but now laptop cannot access new computer or
printer. The server can see and access files on the
laptop, and the laptop can "see" the server in Network
Neighborhood, but when trying to access files on the
server there is a message: Enter Network Password - You
must supply a password to make this connection - Resource:
\\Dell\IPC$ - Password:. We have tried every password we
have, but cannot find which password this is referring
to. Do we need to "trash" XP-Professional and go back to
XP-Home? Any ideas?

On the Win98 PC, make sure to use an account/password
when logging on. Many Win98 users don't bother to use an
account/password when logging on, and are subsequently
denied access to WinXP Pro shares.

Oops - I omitted a sentence. Here is how it should have
read:

On the Win98 PC, make sure to use an account/password
when logging on. The account/password must be the same
as on the WinXP PC. Note that many Win98 users don't
bother to use an account/password when logging on, and
are subsequently denied access to WinXP Pro shares.
