I have a network with a Windows ME computer connected to
a home network thru a wired port on a wireless network.

This computer is basically used as a print server.

The second (primary, actually) computer is a Win XP
laptop connected via a wireless card. I can ping each
computer from the other, but from the XP computer I can't
see the ME computer. But from the ME computer I can see
the XP connector and its shared resouces.

This configuration was working fine until I rebooted the
Win ME computer. Any ideas??

What changes did you make to the Win ME computer immediately before
the reboot?

Are any of the computers running personal firewalls? ICF on the XP
computer?

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Each computer has zone alarm, but I have enabled the
firewall to consider all the internal network IP addresses
in the "trusted zone". When working from the ME machine, I
can see the XP machine and use its shared resources. When
using the XP machine, I can not see the ME maching all the
time, and on the occasions I do, I can not access the
shared resources.

ICF is turned off the XP machine.

The damndest thing is the network worked fine for several
days, then quit yesterday! All I want to do is to print
from the XP computer to the printer attached to the ME
computer!

Try un installing ZA completely from both machines (starting with the
ME machine). ZA is known for bad behaviour (causing access problems
like yours) when supposedly disabled or configured.

As a diagostic procedure, un install ZA precisely, using instructions
for a careful and full removal. Reboot after un install.
