is there a good way to connect the camera to the computer.
RTFM.
Seriously.
If your camera was meant to be connected to the computer - it will tell you
in the manual.
Lost the manual? Go to the web page for the manufacturer of the camera and
download the (probably PDF) manual from their support pages and/or call the
company up.
If your camera was not made to be "connected to" the computer using USB or
firewire - then you would need the right inputs on your computer (or right
adapters to use other such inputs on your computer) and the right software
to capture the video from that input source. In other words - you might
need a card on your computer with RCA video inputs and the software/drivers
installed to access that information and then the right cable to connect
your video camera to the computer using that method.
Beyond that - you basically have told us nothing about what camera you have
or if you have any special video inputs on your computer already - so we
don't know what to suggest to you but generalities.
