I hope someone can tell me how to fix this. This is really strange. I
cannot connect to the ethernet port in the back of my computer to get
internet connection. I have to use a usb ethernet adapter - connect one end
from my cable modem in it and the end in a usb port in the front of my
computer. Their are alot of software programs that I have been trying to
download. I get a message saying no internet. Which I do have it in a usb
port in the front of my computer that works. I have a warranty on the
computer. Called them up and they troubleshoot, no luck. They say the
motherboard is bad. They come out and replace it, and I am still having the
same problem.
I hope someone can please help me with this

Thanks!

Hello: just what are we trying to do here?

'connect one end from my cable modem in it and the end in a usb port in the

Sounbds like you're doing a very wrong thing here laddie.

Now if you have a 'ethernet cable' connection to the cable modem: plug an
ethernet cable into the modem and the the other end of that cable to the
ethernet port [NIC] on the back of the PC.

If you have a USB connection to the cable modem then get a USB cable and
connect one end to the modem and the other end to the USB connector at the
'front' or back of your PC.

Surely if anyone really came out to see your computer they would have told
you how to plug in this modem and test it for you.

Nonone is that stupid.

WEll, SORRY - BUT THIS IS THE ONLY WAY ITS WORKS !!! I HAD TECHS OUT TO MY
HOUSE - THEY SAID THEY WOULD OF HOOKED IT UP THE SAME WAY. SO - DOESNT SOUND
LIKE A I STUPID ??
