Connecting new computer to home network

I just bought a new computer yesterday that si running Windows Vista Home
Premium. I want to connect it to my exsisting home network (all of those
computers run XP) through ethernet cables. I have it plugged in to the
router and I can access the internet, but I can't see any of the other
computers on the network. Nor can I see it from any of the other computers
that are running XP.

I have tried everything that Help and support has suggested. I have turned
on network discovery. I have changed it so they all have the same work group
name. All of the cables are okay, and as I said, the computer does see the
internet connection that the rest of them use.

Is there something else I have to do?

You've run the Network Wizard on both machines?
The workgroup name is the same on both machines?
You've set the HD to be shared??
You have set your Firewall to let that specific IP address through??
