Connect screen

After I start my computer in the morning, I open almost a dozen web
pages at once. No problem until this last few weeks - when I do this
on my home computer most pages open fine, but I tend to get once or
twice the Windows XP window asking me if I want to connect to my
provider.

I always just close this window.

What could be causing this?
 
Using IE ? - & How do you access the Internet (BBand - Dial-up) ?
IE "Learns or is told" how it is to get to the web. Whenever it needs
access and it's not connected will present the connection prompt. I
would check the Connections (TAB) from IE's Internet Options.

No. DSL.

I should try all these with Opera which doesn't know how it accesses
the Internet, and see how it does.
