I have two homes and would like to connect both of my computers to each
other. I always need files from one when I am at the other. How can I tie
them together? I have XP home on each and both have a broadband connection.

A real secure method is to use a VPN or Secure Shell (SSH) tunnel...

OpenVPN...I recently started using this versus SSH...

SSH using copSSH and WinSCP (a free SSH FTP program)... Use a "strong"
password or a private/public key pair...

You could also use UltraVNC with its encryption plug-in and XP video driver
(for the UltraVNC host) to remotely access one or the other of the XP Home
PCs. UltraVNC has a built-in file transfer function...
