Hello, this is what my boss want me to do.
1. he would like to be able to access, edit, and copy files from the main
office to his computer.
2. we would like to switch over from pop3 to exchange server
3. we have 2 domain the 1st site is abc.com and the 2nd is zxy.com.
4. how can i setup this up so that only a certain user on the 2nd site can
access those file at the main office and use a seperate exchange server.
because they have difference domain name. Do i need to setup a new domain in
the same forest? and create a trust relationship? Thanks in advance

Tung,

You have a lot going on here.

Please define for us what your existing set up is.

In your first point, you state that your boss wants to be able to access,
edit and copy files from the main office to his computer. Well, where is he
when he wants to do this? Is he at home? Is he some place else?

If you want to switch from POP3 to Exchange, then you will need an Exchange
Server. You will need to have an Active Directory Domain environment for
this. It is very possible for you to have an Exchange Server that is
authoritative for multiple Domains ( you stated that you have abc.com and
xyz.com ). However, you have not given us any information as to the
relationship between abc.com and xyz.com.

As to your fourth question - the quick answer is that you control this with
Share and NTFS permissions and making good use of Security groups. However,
there is a lot more behind this. Again, without any information as to your
current set up it will be difficult to assist you.

HTH,

Cary

well, it's actually an 2 devision of the company. the 2nd office has about
20 employee and their email domain is totally difference than the main one.
He just want the 2nd office to be able to just access certain share folder
on the server of the main office and thats it. Thanks
