Hi, Is it possible to connect 2 laptops to the internet via a broadband cable
wired connection.
By this I mean, is there such a thing as a twin connection for the wired
modem, that you could plug 2 computers into?
Any help would be appreciated.
thank you
regards Pat

This would require the use a a broadband router. You can pick one up
from any computer store these days, or even your local Wal-Mart.

Although Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) is one solution, it has some
drawbacks, such as the main computer having to be turned on in order for
the second computer to see the Internet connection.
A much better solution is to get a $20 router, such as the ones on sale here:

Let's not forget the computer that is connected directly to the internet
needs to have a second NIC and (not sure about it these days) a
crossover cable or switch would probably need to be used (I used to use
Windows 2000 Professional, ICS and a 4-port workgroup to accomplish this).
