When I used to use Outlook (back in my VERY HAPPY XP days) I was able to view
each e-mail account seperatly on the main screen (it would usually show up
underneath the entire "Local Folders" folder.) Now I can't seem to figure
out how to view the account I added (it is a G-Mail account) so I can see it
on that main screen. The account does apparently updating correctly since I
get no errors, but even though I am getting new mail, I can't figure out how
to view it because I can't see the account. Is there a way to do this?

To view new messages, click on Inbox if it appears. If the folder list
doesn't
appear, click on View, then Layout. Click on the box before Folder List,
then Apply. Do this again if it makes a checkmark disappear from the box.
Click on OK. If the toolbar containing Tools doesn't appear, press the Alt
key on your keyboard.

To view accounts, click on Tools, then Accounts. Click on the account you
want to view, then Properties. However, this doesn't show the messages
received in that account since Windows Mail uses only one set of Local
Folders to hold the email from all the accounts.

If you'd rather have a separate set of local folders for each account, the
easiest way to get them is to download and install Windows Live Mail
and use it for your email (and possibly newsreader) program instead.

It can take over any accounts accessible through Windows Mail, in
addition to being able to use some HTTP accounts such as Hotmail.
