I have the same question as someone else had but it never was answered that I
could see. Here is his question and mine....Under documents and settings,
there are 4 different folders, including, all users, default user, owner and
then one with my name. Can I remove them all, except the one with my name,
safely without deleting important information?

No, you should not delete folders from there.
The proper way is to go to User Accounts and use the option there to
delete a user.
Default and All Users need to stay as well as the account you made for
your own use.
Owner and the one with your name are accounts you made or came with
the computer from the manufacturer.

Thanks for the info. But when I go to user accounts, the one with my name and
guest account are the only ones listed there, (guest account is turned off)

I have another question...so why are the default user and all users folders
there? And how does the stuff get into them? I have been trying to research
this but I can't find the answers I am looking for. Thanks again!

All Users: As it sounds, anything in there applies to all users. If
you put a shortcut in the All Users Desktop, all users have it on
their desktop.
The Default User is the data used to create a new profile.

ok, thanks! Even tho I only have one user I still have to keep those there I
suppose. What is supposed to be in the default user folders?

Anything you want.

You can put whatever you want there.
That is what a new user looks like immediately after you create it.
