Conflict when 2 USB printers plugged in at same time

I have 2 USB printers, Lexmark X73 and HP Photosmart 7150. I've installed
the drivers and software for both printers on my PC running Windows XP SP1.
Each printer works great when it's the only printer plugged in. But if I
plug in both at the same time, I have problems. Usually I get 'printer not
communicating' messages on the Lexmark. It doesn't seem to matter if the
printers are powered on or not ... simply having them both plugged in is
enough to cause the problem. When this happens, some combination of
unplugging the HP, unplugging the Lexmark, powering off/on the Lexmark, and
plugging the Lexmark back in will get it to work again. When I look at the
Printers and Faxes screen, the Lexmark is checked as the primary.

I'd like to have both printers connected, but send different output to the
printer I want without having to mess with cabling. Is there a way to do
this?

Thanks in advance....

That often indicates an insufficient Power Supply Unit. Each USB controller
and port needs power..... XP sends a message through the cable to get the
information it needs to find out what is connecting to the PC. Insufficient
power = message cannot be sent.
