I'm looking for assistance with configuring Outlook 97 to
send my e-mail.

After signing on with a new ISP, I applied (with some
adjustment) the ISP's directions for using Outlook Express
to Outlook 97. Outlook does fine retrieving my mail, but
it will not send it. I finally tried applying the
directions to Outlook Express and was able to send and
receive my mail.

Now that I have it working,I could just use Outlook
Express. However, I would prefer to have the whole
functionality of Outlook at my disposal.

I've been in touch with the support staff at the ISP, but
they were of limited use. Any other suggestions for
solving this problem?

Thanks!

I had this problem today. make sure sr1 is installed and set internet email
connection as lan. this worked for me. this takes care of the not sending
problem. set your email options to receive every few minuets also.

What is sr1?

I'm using a dial-up connection, so I probably shouldn't
change that setting to LAN.
