Hi
I have a computer in my home with XP Pro sp2 installed and I would like to
remotely access my home machine from my office computer which runs XP pro sp2

I was informed that Using a feature IIS it is possible to set the Office
computer as the Wins server and access the Home Computer using the Remote
DEsktop Connection

So any links will he really helpfull and I could manage if some one can
just briefly outline the Concept behind this

thanks

This link should help...

Note that to access your home LAN you need both TCP Port 80 (IIS) and TCP
Port 3389 (RDP). Some ISPs block TCP Port 80 because that violates the terms
of service you agreed to...

Please post additional questions concerning Remote Desktop to the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.work_remotely news group.

Windows XP Pro has a feature called Remote Desktop. It is seperate from IIS.

To enable it, right click on My Computer and open the Properties. Go to the
Remote tab and put a check mark in the box that says "allow users to remotely
connect to this computer".

Then make sure your user account has a password and your firewall is set to
allow Remote Desktop connections.

Then on your office computer go to Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Communications > Remote Desktop Connection. Enter the IP address of your
computer at home and put in your Windows username and password.

If you want an easier way of accessing your computer besides writing down
the IP every time it changes you can use a DNS service such as www.dns2go.com
(there are others)

That should do it.
