I was told by the manufacturer of my computer that in order to speed up the process of downloading web pages I had to change my windows xp configuration settings. After doing this the computer asked me to restart the computer, which I did. When my computer was done rebooting I opened a program and tried to print and the computer told me there were no printers installed. I tried logging on to the internet and it also advised me there was no modem installed. I tried to install both modem and printer but the computer won't allow it. I think this has something to do with the configuration.

Change the settings back.
Otherwise try System Restore to Date/Time before issue started:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
