Hi Roady,
When I install outlook2k on a client machine, then I
proceed to configure the outlook under Mail configuration
in control panel. Under mail configuration it is coming
only add mail and surprisingly there is no other add on
things available, how come!!!!! under normal conditions
Mail settings should come as standard outlook settings
isn't it? this is just like a configuration of
OUTLOOK Express. I reinstalled outlook, uninstalled office
still the same. I don't want to format the hard drive

pls advise

Best Regards
Anver

Have you ever started an Office application for that particular user? When
you installed Office as an administrator and the users starts with a clean
profile as a domain user on that machine it won't have any Office registry
keys yet. When you start an Office application you'll get a "small"
installer making th registry keys and additional shortcuts for that user.
This should also be the case when you start Outlook as your first program.
Untill then the Mail icon in the Control Panel won't have any Outlook
functionality.

Dear Roady,
Yes I have installed OfficeXP(without outlook) before
outlook2k as a domain administrator and it was the same
thing as you mentioned in the reply. For outlook even if I
logged as domain admin in the client pc, the things should
be back correct? but still it is the same thing?
How can I get back the configuration without formating,
can you please advise?

Best Regards
Anver

Hi Anver,

Have you tried a repair or reinstall already on Outlook 2000? Also note that
you must have Outlook Express installed as Outlook 2000 needs OE components.
If the repair on Outlook 2000 fails try a repair on Internet Explorer.

Dear Roady,
As you mentioned I have repair/uninstall/reinstall - but
result is same as before, Outlook Express is availbale on
the machine in both the cases(logged as client or logged
as admin).

Hi Anver,
Both should work. What wizard do you get when you use Tools-> Services
(could be a bit of as it depends on the version and mode) from within
Outlook? Also in what mode did you install Outlook? You probably need
Corporate/Workgroup mode.

Regards,

Dear Roady,
When I click , tools, service - then a wizard appears like
when you configure outlook express - a dialog box will
appear with mail, news, directory etc.. I am getting the
same thing. Normally this is not the outlook 2000
configuration under services. I have installed outlook
under admministrator and later under user(but in both the
cases service configuration is as same).

Regards
Anver
