"configuration information in the registry is incomplete or damage

I ' been unable to use my DVD-CD RW since few time aftar reinsteled Xp Prof . I get a message saying ... 'Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Thanks for any help.
 
Rt click on MyComputer>select Prop>Hardware>Device Manager>Dvd/Cdrom
Drives. Choose yours
rt click and Uninstall. Restart and let XP reinstall it.
