I seem to remember a post a while back concerning XP not
being able to start because this file is "missing or
damaged".

I can't find the entry now -- does anyone have a fix for
this?

And if your WinXP came pre-installed, pay special attention to the line that
says:
"Warning Do not use the procedure that is described in this article if your
computer has an OEM-installed operating system."
