Hi,

I have an Windows application which requires a Dos
application/TSR to be running in the background for it
function properly. The Dos application is loaded in to the
memory by the "Install" directive in the config.sys. This
used to work fine with Windows 98.

I am not able to get the same running on Windows XP.
I have tried adding the "Install" directive to config.nt
in the Windows/System32 directive without any success.

The application is an Custom Built Application & the
vendor does not exist any more... :(

Any help will be appriciated.

I'm not sure but I think install was new to dos 6.22 and XP's dos is only 5.

Just transfer the command to autoexec.bat without the install= part.

Hi David,

The Windows XP Help files states that the Install command is
supported in Config.nt.

I have already tried changing the autoexec.bat without any success.
