Conditional Formatting

I have a workbook that I used by different people to enter data. I have conditional formatting set up in some of the cells. It is

Arrival Time Triage Time Registration Time DC Tim

I have it set up so that if a time is entered wrong (triaged before arrival, etc.) then that cell will turn blue. It is: If Triage Time < Arrival then...; if registration time is less than triage time then....; etc

This works for everyone except for one person - User A on computer #1 it will work, User B on computer #2 it WONT work. Can anyone tell me why the conditional formatting won't work for this one user?

Hi Denise
I believe I helped you set this up originally.

I can't think of anything specific that might cause the conditional format to not work on one machine

Maybe thier machine doesn't support that color? You can test this by changing the conditional format to produce bold text

Maybe thier machine is using the 1904 date system. Check under Tool>Options>Calculations and make sure the "1904 date system" is not checked. If they are using this system then all of thier dates will be four years later then the dates entered on someone elses machine, and you won't see it unless you are displaying the year

Also, what version of Excel are they using

Hope some of this helps

Good Luck

They are using Excel 2002. It is showing up for the person using the computer today, but when this specific user comes in tomorrow and pulls up that file it won't work.

The file is on a network. Each employee has their own log in. Will that make a difference with the date, even though it is on the same computer?

Hi Denise
The date system is tied to the application, not the file. So since each person has thier own log-in, they could have the date system set differently. Check under Tools>Options>Calculations and see what date system each of the users is using

Another thing you can check is to reset the time format to a date format and see what years are showing up in the cells

Does the information entered by the person where it doesn't work, work when a different user accesses the file

Good Luck
