Conditional Formating & Fill Effect

Does anyone know a method to get a fill effect under conditional formatting
similar to the ability to use in a drawing object under format autoshape
colors and lines > fill color > fill effects? I would like to go from green

to yellow in a single cell under a condition. I believe the answer may be
"no", but thought I would ask.

to the best of my knowledge, you can't do that with the cell color, much less
conditional formatting.
 
You touched on the answer in your question: you can set up conditional
formatting to shade a cell in a particular color for a given cell
value, then set up an additional conditional format (logically mutually
exclusive from the first) the shade a different cell color for a
different cell value. In the conditional formatting setup window, look
for the Patterns tab and cell shading.
 
Thanks Dave, but I should have provide more info. What I would like to do is
go from green to red within a single cell. I tried patterns and they do not
provide what I am looking for.

I tested Dave's method and was able to get both the cell color (red, green,
blue,etc.)and the pattern(red w/blue diagonal, etc) to change within the cell
depending on what value I changed the cell to.

What other type of change or circumstance are you looking for?
 
Ross, thanks and Dave is correct, howver it is not what I wanted to
accomplish. Within one cell and one condition I need the cell color to go
from green to red, like a rainbow of colors.

I appreciate everyone's help, but have decided on a different approach to
present the data.
