If the computer will not turn on and is "dead quiet" then you probably
have a hardward problem or issue. Make sure you have checked all the
external plug connections from the wall, to the surge protector, to
the plug to the back of the computer. Make sure the wall plug is
working ... plug in a lamp for example. Even try disconnecting the
surge protector and connect directly to the wall plug. Check if the
power supply cords is bad. (Borrow one from a friend and switich them
for example).
If everything checks out, then you may have a power supply problem or
other hardware issue. In this matter, it's time to find someone who
check the box for hardware failure.
