I hate to post again, but it seems like people pretty much dismiss threads after only a day or so
I have a Gateway laptop running XP Home. I have a Dell 8250 and an XPS both running XP Pro. Thanks to Ron, all 3 computers can see the internet via my linksys router, wireless cards are not an issue, and they can all see each other and access the default shares created by WinXP when it's Net wizard does it's thing. The 8250, which was the problem child earlier, will NOT act like it is on a network when it comes to sharing. on the XPS, every folder or drive has the option "Share this on the Network" there for me to choose. The 8250 doesn't, and the XP troubleshooter says this is because the computer isn't on a network. I beg to differ. It is definitely on a network. I am getting the feeling this is going to be another stupid XP thing that I just would never get on my own. I am guessing it has something to do with maybe the one computer thinking it shouldn't be shared on the network for some reason, but I don't know why. It is most definitely on one, and the default shares work. Any ideas???what info do you need from me to get a better grip on this
Thanks in advance for your help
