Hi.

While I was downloading updates from Microsoft's Update page, I accidentally unplugged the power supply cord to my laptop instead of unplugging my vacuum. Now, when I restart my labtop, I get this message on a black screen: "Load errror! press a key."

I pressed numerous keys, but to no avail. I even did two (2) system restores, but still - "no cigar." Someone please help me to get my computer working. Windows XP (Home edition) will not even load; I just get the above mentioned error message. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your effort, and time in this

P.S. I have a Compaq Presario 710US, 1.0 AMD Athlon processor, 256 megs of Ram and 20 gigabyte hard drive. Thanks.

Okay, I'll try for the simple source: Did you check if there is a
diskette in the floppy drive?

Asking vague questions results in getting vague, inappropriate, or
irrelevant answers or numerous guesses. Is there a reason you don't
mention the brand and model of your laptop? You lockout all the users
of that laptop in providing help because no one knows what you have.
