computer will not boot

Can anyone help me please? My computer, when booting up freezes on the Windows 98 screen. I am only able to start computer in Safe Mode. I have ran virus protection and cleanup and even re-formatted my hard drive and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions other than buying a new computer

Try asking in a win9x group. Most likely is a hardware issue. Check Device
Manager.

Sounds like a Video driver issue boot into safe mode and change the Video to
standard VGA then reboot if it boots get the latest video drivers. If that
fails try a different Video card
