My computer was accidently shut-off in the processes of
booting up. Now it will not open at all in any mode. I
printed the "Using Recover Console" which I believe will
work, but I just moved and I cannot locate my system CD.
What can I do?

Hi

Without your XP CD you won't be able to do very much. If you can't boot up
using 'Last Known Good Configuration' or boot into Safe Mode to try a System
Restore you will have to try a 'Repair' install of XP - which requires the
XP CD.

I'm not sure it the Recovery Console will help - that would depend on why
your PC isn't booting.

The recovery console cannot be downloaded (at least, not legally.) You need
a Windows XP installation CD.

If you purchased your original Windows XP CD at retail:

"How to replace lost, broken, or missing Microsoft software or hardware"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326246

If your copy of Windows came pre-installed on your computer you have to
contact the vendor for assistance.
