Computer starting up on its own

Can anyone help!! I have just bought a new Packard bell computer and for some
reason it keeps turning itself on. At random times of the day it will just
come to life. The only way i have managed to stop it doing this is to pull
the plug out ...

Go into the BIOS and disable any "Wake On" features.

Go into the Bios. Disable "wake on lan" and/or "wake on modem".
