Computer shuts off repeatedly

Sometimes when I have a few programs running at once, my computer will just shut off. When I restart, I get back to the desktop and as everything is loading it shuts off again. No shut down notice, no error messages, just shuts down. This can happen over and over, though if I let the computer sit off for 20 to 30 minutes, it often restarts correctly and works for as long as a day or two, but it always happens again. I have Norton, it updates weekly so I don't think it's a virus. Can anyone please help?

May not be your problem. But it sounds like the earlier post. without
an alarm
Perhaps if you read other posts about the same issue you may find
your own problem and save a post.

It sounds like a high temperature alarm. The computer is shutting down
due
to high processor temp. Open the case, check all fans to see that they
are
running, and clean the dust and other debris from the fans and heat
sinks.
