Computer runs slow even though I have Comcast high speed internet.

My computer is very slow to react even though I have
broadband high speed internet. Is there something that I
can adjust in my Dell Computer to make it speed up? thank
you
 
Did you turn the firewall ON and install a full-time
anti-virus and a good spyware program? If not you have
probably been hacked and are allowing some porn site to use
your computer to send kiddie porn. Maybe it is not that
bad, but you probably have some spyware and such running.

Try SpyBot free from www.security.kolla.de

Also, AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com also free version.

Zone Alarm free (you have to look for it) www.zonelabs.com
will report and block out-going connections by Trojans and
dialers. It will ask if you want "to allow (program name)
to act as server" or report any changed programs.

Your internet connection has no effect on how fast or slow your computer functions, can't see how one would think that it would. You
likely have allot of apps loading at startup, spyware, virus, or other problem.
