ok well so far it has done this with everygame i have
tried....battlefield 1942 and dungeoon siege are a few
that i was trying.. so heres my problem after about 2-5
minutes of playing the game a blue screen pops up for
about a milisecond then my computer restarts. anyone know
hwta is wrong? i would really like to fix this cause 5
minutes of gameplay is nothing...I may as well just take
up starring at a wall. any help or info would be
appreciated thanks

It sounds like a stop error. Right click My Computer > Click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab and Click Settings under Startup and Recovery. In
the middle of that panel, uncheck Automatically restart under System
failure. Now when you crash, you'll actually get some kind of error. Write
that down and do a search at google.com for it in addition to posting it
here.

Heck, could be video, memory, processor, fans, heat, psu, hdd. Haha, sorry
to tell you that, but it's only the beginning.

I did that actually right after i wrote my message i saw
to do that on some other forum somonewhere and it did
give me a error said ... um nv4_dis.dll i think im
prettyy sure thats one of the 44.03 detonator fx drivers
for my geforce 2 mx 200 but im not 100% sure...they are
the most up to date drivers and i really not sure what i
should do now i tried looking for a previous version of
drives to try but i couldnt find them so im kinda stuck
now. thanks again for the info and any additionion help
you and anyone else is able to provide to me.

Hi Shamino,

Here's how I got my system working, however I also updated my Chipset
drivers right after setting a restore point before doing anything else.
http://www3.sympatico.ca/nibblesnbits/Video.html#v11

Updating video card drivers can solve most gaming issues.
Me & XP users should create a restore point before any upgrades:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/gethelp/systemrestore.asp

Before you update your drivers, I recommend you upgrade to DirectX 9.0a:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...22-0B25-4E5D-A584-6389D8A3DAD0&displaylang=en

Keep any download accelerators or antivirus programs disabled.

Here are the steps I recommend you use to update your driver. If you've
never done this before I recommend you also look over the Nvidia's FAQ: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=support_faqs

2. Download the latest driver v. 44.03 for your Nvidia Card:
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_44.03

3. Save the .exe driver in My Documents\My Drivers\Nvidia 4403

4. Restart the computer in Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key
about once every second as it's rebooting to pick Safe Mode.

5. Click Start / (settings) Control Panel / System / Hardware
Device Manager / expand +Display Adapters / right click on
the adapter, pick "Uninstall", and click No if asked to reboot.

6. Use Control Panel / Add-Remove programs to uninstall the
previous driver (exe)software which may have been installed.

7. Restart the computer in Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key
about once every second as it's rebooting to pick Safe Mode.

8. If Windows prompts you to install the adapter, click "Cancel".

9. Double click the 44.03 driver we saved to My Documents\
Drivers\Geforce folder in step 3 to install.it. If it complains about
Windows Logo Certification just click "Continue". This is normal.

10. After you reboot, go to Control Panel / Display / Settings and
choose 32 bit Color Quality, and 1024x768 Screen Resolution.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Test your drivers using DXDiag: Click Start / Run / type: DXDIAG
Click the "Test" buttons in the Display, Sound, Music & Network Tabs;
If any of the Display options are Disabled and you cannot Enable them,
your most likely solution would be to update your Chipset Drivers as per:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/nibblesnbits/Video.html#v11

Along with your Video card, Sound Cards, Motherboard Chipsets,
and Video Monitors may also require updated drivers. Even your
motherboard's BIOS may need to be updated for compatibility with
your Video card. These steps are listed at: http://NibblesNbitsVideo.tk

Perhaps the old Nvidia drivers did not completely uninstall. If that's the
case, use this utility to completely uninstall the drivers and go to step 7:
http://content.guru3d.com/index.php?page=detonatorrip&menu=0

The latest video drivers sometime don't work with a particular game.
(Check the Video suggestions in the readme.txt file in your game folder/CD)
If there's no suggestions, try an older (WHQL) driver, and/or if you still
experience problems try a Beta driver, or even an Omega driver instead:

BETA Drivers: http://download.guru3d.com/
OMEGA Drivers: http://www.omegacorner.com/

There you have it, if you have any questions feel free to post them! :-)

You're welcome Shamino! As for those error reports, try this..

Install the 32bit Windows Error Reporting Update from:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=821558

This update will enable you to automatically view responses to Windows
error reports. After submitting an error report, if information relating to the
crash event is available such as a fix, workaround, or other information,
then the response may be viewed immediately and automatically. :-)

Haha I think i have found the culprit of the majority of
my problems turns out my compuiter has contracted a
virus. I didnt find it till a little while ago when my
nortan systemworks 2k would not open so i reinstalled it
and the first thing it found with the new virus
definition files was a virus... It must have infected my
nortan beace i update my virus defs every morning.
Unfortunatly i think this virus has been corrupting and
destroying files since close to day 1 of my xp install. I
think i may just end up reformatting again ( dear god!)
but that would be better than something getting damaged.
im gonna search around for some cleaning instructions. I
cant remember the name off the top of my head something
parite something not sure.

Well off to fight viruses hope to write again if not,
assume my computer overheated and melted down causing a
thermonuclear explosion that wiped out my city!!

PEACE OUT :|
