starting about 2 weeks ago my computer has been randomly booting back up
minutes or hours after i've shut down only to sit at the login screen (my
name is password protected) while i'm at school or asleep. I have norton
antivirus and spy sweeper, as well as an antivirus/sweeper from my cable
company and adaware but it isn't finding the culprit but in the event viewer
log there is a failed logon attempt by
"MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0" because of an "Unknown user name or
bad password". There is always this log file right after the computer starts
on its own. Aside from this the computer is working fine. Do I have a virus
and if so is there any way I can get rid of it manually? I'm pretty
experienced with Windows but I'm not a network administrator or anything;
does anyone have any advice that could help me?

If the computer is truly off, this has nothing to do with Windows and
everything to do with the BIOS.
Go to the BIOS and look for something like "Wake on LAN" and "Wake on ring",
normally under the power tab.
Disable them.
