sometimes, i'm not sure of what related instances, my computer wil
start up, and either:

a. overclocking error message shows up, "system failed overclocking" i
a computerised, basic asus motherboard way and monitors/display doesn'
respond.

b. monitors/display doesn't respond.

i'm wondering why... is it just the heat in my tower? it's a 20 in cas
w/ metal siding, front is plastic, apart from the swing door, it's
thermaltake. anyhow i have 5 fans in there, 2 HD's, 1 DVD burner
shouldnt be making THAT much heat. it's p4 tho and it's HT, i dno..
well that's why i'm here. so someone can help me find out.

also, originally my computer was set to display screen saver, i
doesn't. this has happened on many systems i've owned. Applying th
settings again doesn't make a difference.

thanks in advance,
rez

Overheating and overclocking are two different things, although they can be
related. Are you intentionally overclocking your cpu? Or maybe even your
video card?

For a. you mean you actually do not tweak the CPU clock and memory timings
in BIOS, they are set to Auto/Disabled etc yet you get an overclocking
error?
Might be the Asus motherboard, the memory, the PSU.
For b., your graphics settings don't match your graphics hardware:
onboard/card and/or monitor.
If it's random, might be the PSU or your power source.
