I have one computer out of 3 that I cannot gain access to. I can see it from
the other computers, but cannot not get into it. It is the one that has our
internet DSL modem on it, so I guess it is the administrator. I have file
sharing turned on for everything but when I try to access it from another
computer I get the not accessable error message.

System is Windows XP Home

The "...not accessible..." error can have many causes. One would be a
misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other security component.
There are several other possibilities too, and any might be the problem. Read
this article with an open mind.

Or provide "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", and "net config" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.

That is exactly what my problem was. I turned off my Sygate firewall on the
server and now I can see it from the other computer.

HOW do I allow the other computer to see the server thru the server
firewall? I don't know or see any setting that is obvious to allow the
access.

Paul,

Every different personal firewall has to be setup differently. The experts at
CSF or MPS should be able to help you sort this.
