Hi there

I am trying to create a user account in Windows XP Pro SP2, and it won't
let me create a user name that is the same as the PC. For some reason
I'm sure I've managed to do it before, but perhaps that's just my
imagination. Any way to set up a user name that is the same as the PC?

E.g.

username= export
PC name = export

Thanks.

See the following KB article for info on why that isn't allowed:

That's correct. WinXP disallows this as a security vulnerability.

Earlier operating systems allowed it, but WinXP doesn't.

Downgrade to a less secure OS.
