Computer locks up on game

I've been running NASCAR Racing 2003 for sometime without problems. Now my
computer will frequently freeze while playing the game.

I've done a clean Windows XP install, reinstalled game, substituted the RAM,
upgraded the video driver, all without success. Heat does not seem to be the
problem.

The same game works fine on another Windows XP machine.

Suggestions please.

Could be you installed and running something that creates an
incompatibility with the game. Have you yet tried using msconfig.exe to
disable all startup program, reboot, and check if the game then runs
without all those other processes loaded and running?
