The basic processes are very slow which started about a couple wks ago.
Such as: minimize aplications button, moving around in browser pages,
opening aplication etc.

What can I do to correct?

Could be anything. Check if the harddisk uses the U/DMA mode. Next

What can I do to correct?

First, scan the system for malware!
