More often than not, when I go to open a pdf file my
computer freezes and resets. I currently am using Adobe
reader 6.0 which i just rcently installed thinking that
maybe the adobe software was the problem, but the
problems continues.

Anyone got any ideas

Hi

Do you see any error messages with the resets? If not, right click My Computer, select Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under 'Startup and Recovery' and then disable 'Automatically restart'. next time your PC resets, you should get a Blue Screen with a Stop Code. Could you please post that Stop Code back here - with that your problem could be isolated.

Thank for your help! I turned off the automatic restart and got the same result. There is no error message being displayed. It is as if someone pushed the reset button and the computer re-boots. any other ideas?

That makes two of us. I have exactly the same problem here with one of my PCs - random reboots and no BSOD to go on. I haven't got very far with diagnosing the problem yet, but I'll get back to you when/if I get any results. I'm going to flash the BIOS next to see if that has any effect.

One question - if I may? Do you hear any kind of noise just before your PC reboots?

I have the same problem. Auto restart disabled, no blue screen and no
virus.

It does click when it resets but I think it's just the machine comming
back to life.

I've just boutght and installed a new 430w power unit so I'm guessing it's
that, but if anyone else has any other suggestions ...
