computer keeps freezing

my problem is, my computer keeps freezing!!
i'm running windows xp professional & everytime i play a
music file, play a cd, or try & burn a cd my computer
freezes, it would randomly freeze at times as well
leaving me to reset, this is getting very annoying & i
have no idea what is causing this to happen
also i'm not very computer smart :(
can someone please help? thanks in advance
 
LATELY......IT HAS BEEN VERY COLD SO I WOULD RECOMMEND WRAPPING YOUR COMPUTER IN A WARM BLANKET AND GIVE IT SOME CHICKEN SOUP
